Fire destroys vacant house

A fire destroyed a vacant house in Lookout Valley this morning.

The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm at 4:37 a.m. about the fire at 3602 Kelly's Ferry Road.

According to Battalion Chief Chief Chris Willmore, it took firefighters less than 20 minutes to get the blaze under control.

Willmore said the house was considered a total loss with damages estimated at $67,000.

The house has been vacant for years. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
