Mayor Andy Berke has promoted his communications director, Lacie Stone, to a role as senior adviser.

Stone, a UTC graduate who grew up in Chattanooga, has been the mayor's spokesperson since April 2013.

Before joining the mayor's office, Stone worked at the Electric Power Board as their Public Relations Supervisor followed by work as a communications consultant for several non-profit organizations, including local food initiative Gaining Ground.

She is also a board member at the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga.

In her new role, Stone will oversee special projects and provide strategic direction for key mayoral initiatives.

"During our time in office, Lacie's good judgment, acute work ethic, and strategic-thinking have made her a valuable part of my team," Berke said.

Stone's deputy, communications coordinator Marissa Bell, will handle press contacts.
