The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested Tunnel Hill Police Officer Scott Reneau on charges of theft by taking and violation of oath of office.

The GBI began investigating the department, according to a release, on March 23 after Tunnel Hill Police Chief Roy Brunson told the state investigators that more than $37,000 had gone missing from his evidence room. That money was tied to a series of traffic stops that Reneau conducted.

Reneau turned himself in to the Whitfield County Jail today after a judge issued arrested warrants for him. The case is still active.
