UPDATE: Police nab man suspected of stealing $8,000 in tools, hitting three people with truck

UPDATE: Working on an anonymous tip, Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputies located and apprehended James Robin Roddy tonight at 9923 Carey Lane.

Roddy was taken into custody and is currently being transported to the Hamilton County Jail.

He will be booked and is facing numerous charges stemming from yesterday's events including burglary, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and evading arrest.

A complete list of his charges is not available at this time due to the fact more charges could be added pending the conclusion of the investigation.

Authorities are on the lookout for a man who led police on a car chase after allegedly stealing over $8,000 worth of tools from a car and hitting three pedestrians with his truck yesterday.

The burglary victim said he was coming out of the Country Side Restaurant at 8223 Mahan Gap Road when he saw his car had been broken into and a suspect was fleeing the scene. he pursued the suspect until he lost sight of the vehicle, a press release said.

The victim said he then found the suspect's vehicle again, this time parked at the Highway 58 Mart, and approached the man, James Robin Roddy, 39.

When he approached, a fight broke out between the two and Roddy allegedly backed his truck in reverse, striking three people including the victim and his wife. Everyone injured was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

Roddy then traveled south on Highway 58, striking several vehicles with his truck, until deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department found him on Mahan Gap Road and gave chase.

In an attempt to to escape, Roddy drove through several roads and eventually fled on foot.
