Heated argument at MAPCO Mart results in car fire and arrest

An argument at Mapco Mart between a customer and a clerk resulted in the customer setting the clerk's car on fire in the store's parking lot.

Firefighters and police officers were called on to the scene at 9109 Lee Highway around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night after an eyewitness saw the customer attempting to start the fire and called 911.

Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department Deputy Chief Dennis Thomason responded to the scene and put the fire out with a portable fire extinguisher.

The CPD and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department responded and apprehended the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Christopher Rozema, a short distance from the store.
