Amber alert issued for missing Rogersville child

An AMBER Alert has been issued by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on behalf of the Rogersville Police Department for 9-year-old Carlie Marie Trent.

Carlie was taken out of school Wednesday by her uncle by marriage, Gary Simpson, who has no custodial rights to Carlie, under false pretenses.

Carlie is 4-foot-8 weighing 75 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a black and grey tank top with blue jeans.

Simpson, 57, is a white male, 5-foot-10, weighing 157 pounds. Simpson is balding, and has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown cap, a dark colored shirt and jeans.

Simpson was driving a white 2002 Dodge Conversion Van with Tennessee registration: 173GPS. The van has a dark stripe down the middle with light gold running boards and paint is chipping off the hood.
