An armed robber absconded with a small amount of cash Friday at the Waffle House on West Walnut Avenue in Dalton.

According to the Dalton Police Department, a black man entered the restaurant about 3:10 a.m., pointed a silver handgun at a cashier who was washing dishes and demanded money. The cashier gave the suspect all of the bills in the cash till. The suspect also demanded money from a locked drawer that the cashier could not unlock.

The suspect then ran out the front door and got into the passenger seat of a white or silver four door vehicle. A witness told investigators that the driver of the vehicle was possibly a black male and that there could have been two white females in the car with them.

The suspect was wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and a black hat and a red bandanna covering his face. He wore a black North Face jacket over the hoodie.
