Attorneys selected another trial date today for Mark Kaylor, the former Red Bank police officer indicted for his role in a violent arrest in 2014.

The 39-year-old will stand trial Nov. 1 before Hamilton County Criminal Court Judge Tom Greenholtz on charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and official misconduct. Kaylor was scheduled to go to trial in April, but it postponed.

Kaylor's attorney, Lee Davis, had no comment today.

The two-year saga began when Kaylor was involved in a violent traffic stop in April 2014. Dashcam video shows Kaylor punching Candido Medina-Resendiz in the arm and face while additional officers pinned him down, stun-gunned him, and tried to handcuff him.

At one point, while Kaylor lies on top of Medina-Resendiz, he claims he's going to "[expletive] kick your ass."

The ordeal left Medina-Resendiz with a swollen-shut eye, a fractured eye socket, and cuts and bruises on his cheeks.

Medina-Resendiz later filed a lawsuit in Chattanooga's federal courthouse, claiming Red Bank's police department created a culture that shielded misbehaving officers. The case is on hold until June 2 while Kaylor resolves his criminal charges, records show.
