Two former East Hamilton High football players arrested for armed robbery

Two former East Hamilton High School football players have been arrested on a charge of aggravated robbery.

Martez Durrah and Jeffery Dewayne Coleman, both 19, were taken into custody May 19.

In an affidavit, 20-year-old Andrew Floyd said he was at home at 1510 Morris Hill Road when he heard a knock at his back door. He opened the door to find Coleman, who Floyd called an acquaintance, and Durrah, who Floyd knew as "Tez."

Durrah put a gun to Floyd's head and ordered him and his roommate to get on the floor before demanding their money, according to the affidavit. The suspects then fled the house.

Police constructed photo lineups that included images of Coleman and Durrah. These lineups were shown to Floyd and he positively identified Coleman and Durrah as the two suspects who had robbed them at gunpoint, according to the affidavit.

Officers located Coleman at his home on Granda Drive and transported him to the services center where he was interviewed. During the interview, Coleman admitted to taking part in the robbery and that the other suspect was Durrah.

Bond was set for Durrah and Coleman at $100,000 each. As of Monday evening, both men were still in custody according to General Sessions Court.

The two are due in Hamilton County General Sessions Court at 8:30 a.m. Friday.
