Police: Tracy City man airlifted to Erlanger after being shot

A Tracy City man has been airlifted to Erlanger hospital after suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound around 3 p.m. Monday.

The Tracy City Police Department did not release the name of the victim, citing pending notification of family.

The victim stated that two men came to his house and demanded drugs, said Police Chief Charlie Wilder Monday evening. The assailants, who the victim could not identify, then shot him in the leg.

Wilder said the incident took place in the vicinity of Sims Street and police have canvassed the neighborhood in search of the assailants.

The matter is under active investigation and no further information is available at this time.
