STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Authorities say they have busted a meth lab located across the street from a DeKalb County elementary school.
Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Chuvalo Truesdell tells local media that DEA agents recently set up surveillance on a home in Stone Mountain after learning that someone was cooking meth inside. The house in near Pine Ridge Elementary School.
The Georgia State Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle outside the house and discovered more than 13 pounds of meth.
Truesdell says agents obtained a search warrant for the home and discovered a large meth laboratory inside, as well as more than $13 million in drugs and cash.
Authorities arrested 23-year-old Pedro Suarez-Rangel and 28-year-old Juan Perez-Garcia on numerous charges, including distributing or possessing a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
It's unclear if Suarez-Rangel or Perez-Garcia have attorneys.
