A brush fire on top of Signal Mountain grew to 20 acres Saturday afternoon before being controlled, according to a press release from Hamilton County Emergency Services.

Amy Maxwell, spokeswoman for Hamilton County Emergency Services, said fire officials confirmed all 20 acres are under control and responders returned back to their normal duties.

A section of Roberts Mill Road remains closed to traffic.

It is uncertain what caused the fire, Maxwell said.
