A man died from the injuries he suffered during a Saturday afternoon traffic crash on Interstate-75 in McMinn County.
Pennsylvania resident John Zullinger, 30, was killed after a tractor trailer ran into Zullinger's pick-up truck that was sitting stationary on the interstate's shoulder near mile marker 47, according to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Zullinger was pulled from his truck by bystanders but could not be saved.
Allen Harris, 66, of Knoxville was driving the tractor trailer and was airlifted to UT Medical Center.
Zullinger was pulling a trailer with a motorcycle on it. The trailer was separated from the truck during the crash, as the tractor trailer pushed the truck into the median, where it caught fire.
According to the initial THP report, citations have not been issued but criminal charges are pending.
