Some Chattanooga 911 calls misdirected to Knoxville

Imagine calling 911 for your emergency in Chattanooga and reaching the Knox County E-911 Center.

"It's not as prevalent now as it was a few weeks ago, when we were getting a few," said Alan Bull, interim director of the Knox County E-911 Center.

Bull said his agency reported the problem to TDS, the telephone provider, but never heard what caused the issue or if it had been fixed. Just in case, Bull said his agency installed a switching program so any errant emergency calls from Hamilton County could be transferred with the touch of a button to the proper 911 center.
