Some much-needed precipitation is headed toward Chattanooga today.
A strong cold front will move into the Chattanooga region late this afternoon into the evening bringing with at a line of showers and thunderstorms, according to the The National Weather Service.
The rainfall amounts are only predicted to about .25 to .50 inches in most places but some areas could see as much as 1 inch.
A few of the storms could be strong to severe, but widespread strong storms are not expected.
Damaging winds and small hail are the main threat from these storms. No tornado threat has been reported.
