Tullahoma, Tenn., police officials say a 16-year-old has been charged in the stabbing death of 21-year-old Carlos Harris in an incident as Dossett Apartments on Aug. 15.

The teen, who remains unnamed as a minor, is charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault resulting in death and voluntary manslaughter, police officials said in a statement.

Harris' body was found around 11 p.m. lying on the ground at the apartment complex on East Grundy Street with a single stab wound to the chest. Police officers performed CPR until emergency medical officials arrived but Harris was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said in August following the discovery of the body.

A medical examiner's examination indicated the stab wound resulted in Harris' death, officials said.

Tullahoma Police det. Johnny Gore consulted with the 14th Judicial District Attorney's office and after reviewing the information gained during the investigation leveled the charges against the teen, officials said in the statement.

The teen was taken into custody Oct. 20 and was transported to the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention facility. The teen will be held there pending further court proceedings, officials said.
