People asked to avoid area near Martha's Falls as wildfire consumes more than 40 acres

People are being asked by The National Park Service to avoid the area near Martha's Falls as a wildfire has grown to more than 40 acres.

Firefighters are responding to the area to combat the fire that is growing south of Alabama Highway 35, according to The National Park Service.

Wildfires have been prevalent the last several weeks throughout the region as the drought continues.
