Stephen Mobley
Police have named Stephen Maurice Mobley, 32, as a suspect in Monday's double homicide that left man and a woman dead in East Brainerd.
Police believe Mobley shot and killed Rashaud Taylor, 23, and Jasmine Hines, 22, inside a home on Pinewood Drive early Monday morning. A third woman was wounded in the shooting, but police have not publicly identified her out of concern for her safety.
Chief Fred Fletcher wouldn't say exactly why police to believe Mobley was the shooter, but did say he believes Mobley was at least an acquaintance of the two victims and that the shooting happened after an 'interaction' with the victims.
Mobley is a validated gang member, but police don't believe the shooting is motivated by gang affiliation.
Police say Mobley is armed and dangerous and ask for information regarding his whereabouts. Officials on Tuesday added his name to the TBI's top ten most wanted list.
Mobley has a lengthy criminal history in Hamilton County. In 2005, was convicted of manslaughter in a College Hill Courts shooting. He served six years in prison and was released in 2010.
He was also charged with murder in the 2012 death of Gregory Watkins, but a 2015 trial ended with a hung jury.
