Calhoun man charged with kidnapping and rape

A Calhoun man, Jacorey Norwood, 25, has been charged with kidnapping and rape among several other charges after the alleged victim stepped forward.

On Sunday she said she was taken by force to a home where she was physically assaulted. Detectives then obtained tangible evidence linking the suspect to the assault, said Chief Garry Moss.

Norwood was charged with two counts of rape, one count of kidnapping, one count of entering an auto, one count of terroristic threats and four counts of simple battery.

He will remain in the Gordon County Jail pending bond proceedings.
