Gun, drugs, cash seized in North Alabama traffic stop

Two people were arrested after drugs, a weapon and cash were found during a traffic stop Tuesday in DeKalb County, Ala., Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in a news release.

Deputies stopped the vehicle on County Road 602 and 603 and were given consent to search, the sheriff said.

They found methamphetamine and marijuana, around $2,000 in cash and a handgun, and called in the county's drug and major crimes task force.

Deputies arrested Billy H. Seabolt, 56, of Pisgah, and Hanna Daniel Pell, 21, of Fort Payne, according to the release.

Seabolt was charged with drug trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a firearm. Harris said the drug and major crimes task force has been investigating Seabolt for some time and more charges are pending.

Pell was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
