Several local law enforcement agencies responded to a report of a shooting along the Walker County-Chattooga County border this evening.

According to Walker County 911 dispatch, the U.S. Marshals Service was on Halls Valley Spur in Trion, Ga., around 3:30 p.m. At some point after that, the agency reported shots fired. Members of the Walker County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene, along with paramedics.

WRCB-TV has reported that this was an officer-involved shooting and that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is working the case. Greg Ramey, GBI special agent in charge of the northwest Georgia region, did not immediately respond to a call seeking comment. Neither did Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson or Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader.

Some investigators are still on the scene.

This is a developing story.
