This week's health inspections came back with no restaurants failing, but three restaurants scored below an 80 and two of them nearly failed.
A score below 70 is considered failing. Two area restaurants - The Ice Cream Show and the Krystal on Brainerd Road - scored a 73, while St. Elmo Deli & Grille recorded a 78.
The Ice Cream Show was cited for not having hand soap at the hand sink, distressed items throughout prep and storage areas, insecticides stored with cleaning products, cleaning products stored with food items, utensils stored in standing water and a wastewater leak noted at mixing machine.
The Krystal on Brainerd Road was docked for letting old spillage build up at back of cold holding line, the oven having heavy buildup, front fryer containing excessive grease build up, storage area with buns containing old spillage and old spills on walls and floors.
At St. Elmo Deli & Grill, the inspector found insects present, dirty food contact surfaces and cleaning supplies were not properly stored and labeled.
