A Chattanooga police officer has turned himself in on a warrant for domestic assault, a police news release states.

The release issued late Sunday night said Charles Andrew Brock turned himself in to the Hamilton County Jail on Tuesday on a warrant issued by the Signal Mountain Police Department.

The release gave no details about the alleged assault and didn't say why it was made public five days after the officer was booked.

It said Brock has been with the police department eight years and was assigned to the Neighborhood Policing Division, Baker Sector. He is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

The release said the Chattanooga Police Department "would like to acknowledge the professionalism of the Signal Mountain PD during their investigation of this incident."
