Tractor trailer jackknifes on I-75, lands on median, blocking traffic in both directions

A tractor trailer jackknifed at 8:22 a.m. Monday on Interstate 75 northbound near mile marker 8, blocking traffic in both directions, but particularly on the northbound side.

The crash occurred just after the Bonny Oaks exit.

Traffic was backed up for miles in both directions as emergency personnel worked from both sides of the eight-lane divided highway.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation estimated the multiple vehicle crash was cleared by 1 p.m.

Northbound traffic was being diverted to alternate routes.
