More than 2,000 people attended Saturday's 2017 Tennessee Sandhill Crane Festival in Birchwood.

On Sunday, hundreds gathered at the former Birchwood Elementary School for a raptor show presented by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency featuring birds of prey from the American Eagle Foundation.

At the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge, buses delivered bird watchers from the school parking lot to view the thousands of Sandhill Cranes that come here annually.
