Downed power lines, flooding as significant weather passes through Chattanooga area

Significant weather in the Chattanooga area caused downed power lines and possibly trees as heavy rain and wind swept through the area.

The Hamilton County 9-1-1 Center received calls about downed wire on Bowen Trail, Trails End Circle and Fairfax Drive.

The National Weather Service issued a significant weather advisory and flood advisory for Hamilton, Marion, Sequatchie, Bradley and Polk counties until 1:30 a.m. People outside should seek shelter immediately.

The storm will move across the area for the next several hours, and radar shows it is expected to pass before morning.
