Ex-Maryville College football player arrested in cheerleader's slaying out on bond

A former Maryville College football player charged in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old cheerleader has been released after posting a $1 million bond.

William Riley Gaul, 18, was released from the Knox County Detention Facility on Monday, the Knox County Sheriff's Office confirmed.

He reportedly is being required to wear an ankle monitoring bracelet. Other conditions of his release were not immediately available.
