Chattanooga police find child, stolen truck on Shepherd Road

Officers were dispatched to a reported truck theft and kidnapping Sunday, according to a Chattanooga Police Department news release.

Upon arriving at the Circle K on East Brainerd Road, police spoke to the victim's father who said that when he went into the store to pay for gas he saw someone drive away with his blue 2007 Dodge Ram truck. He said his 3-year-old son was in the back seat asleep when the vehicle was taken.

Police immediately issued a citywide all-points bulletin to all officers. Members of the violent crimes bureau responded to investigate.

About an hour later, the child and vehicle were located by police at the 1600 block of Shepherd Road. The child was unharmed.

Police are still searching for the person who reportedly stole the truck.
