A man was shot at 4:37 a.m. Tuesday morning on the 2200 block of E. 26th Street, Chattanooga police said.

Jamaal Thomas, 26, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He told police he was shot after an argument with his roommate, according to a press release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

The suspect, Dominique Bonds, 28, fled before police arrived and is still at large, stated the press release. Investigators have secured warrants for his arrest. He is being sought for attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

Bonds has an arrest record in Chattanooga dating back to 2010, according to Times Free Press records. Most of his arrests were for criminal trespassing, but he was arrested multiple times on domestic assault and child abuse and neglect charges.

The Violent Crime Bureau is investigating the shooting.
