Reward offered for information about fire at hardware store in LaFayette, Ga.

Georgia Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner Ralph Hudgens is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone with information about a fire at Hammond-Jones Hardware in LaFayette.

People can call in tips to the Georgia Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804.

According to a news release, the fire occurred around midnight as Tuesday turned to Wednesday.

Someone lit the fuse to cause minor damage to the shop, located at 110 N. Main Street.

A LaFayette Police officer responded to the scene first and helped contain the flames before the city's firefighters arrived.
