The victim of a weekend homicide in north Chattanooga gave police a tip while he lay bleeding from gunshot wounds in his driveway as Saturday night turned to Sunday morning.

Jalen Little, 19, died at a hospital a few minutes later, but an arrest affidavit indicates his "dying declaration" on his Oak Tree Drive driveway pointed authorities toward 19-year-old Zachary Chadwick.

Chadwick has been arrested for criminal homicide and especially aggravated robbery. He is being held on $850,000 bond at the Hamilton County Jail. His first court date is March 20.

Police are still searching for Jacob Coyne, 21, who is wanted on the same charges for his role in Little's death.

Chadwick told police that Coyne pulled the trigger, according to an arrest affidavit that details a dispute over drugs and money.

According to the affidavit, Chadwick told police he gave Little $960 to purchase marijuana earlier in the day. He told officers that Little never returned with the marijuana or money.

Chadwick said he and Coyne discussed finding Little and getting the money back, according to the affidavit.

Chadwick told police he and Coyne approached Little in the driveway and that Little had a large sum of money in is hand when Coyne opened fire.

"Mr. Chadwick and several witnesses reported Mr. Coyne as the defendant who shot [the] victim," the affidavit says.
