Shooting victim walks to Chattanooga hospital after being shot

An 18-year-old who was shot on East Third Street apparently was struck by bullets fired from a passing car.

Keana Jones told police two cars were passing by her and the occupants were firing at each other when she was struck, according to a police news release.

Jones walked to nearby Erlanger hospital and was treated for injuries that are not life-threatening, police said.

Hamilton County 911 records show a "shooting - person shot" call for the 1100 block of E. Third Street, not far from Erlanger hospital, at 7:52 p.m.

Police were unable to locate the crime scene.
