An ex-Knox County music teacher who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possessing more than 2,000 images depicting child sex abuse retired with benefits while he was under investigation, according to his personnel file.
Brian Corrie Patton, 65, of Knoxville, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor last week.
He was placed on paid administrative leave Jan. 27, three days after he was arrested.
