Mother charged with attempt to smother son at Vanderbilt hospital, police say

A woman has been charged with attempted criminal homicide after she allegedly tried to suffocate her seven-month-old son who was a patient at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

Jennifer Sandor, 23, of Goodlettsville, is in jail in lieu of $200,000 bond after Nashville Metro Police Department Youth Services detectives charged her early Saturday morning.

Sandor brought her son to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital for unexplained medical episodes that left the child blue and limp.
