Two World War II mortar rounds were found Friday in Tracy City, Tennessee, near a roadway and walking trail, according to a Tracy City Police Department Facebook post.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and a U.S. Army explosive ordinance disposal team was called in to assist.

The team determined the mortars needed to be destroyed and could not be transported safely but has since removed the weapons and taken to a designated area to be made safe, according to the Facebook post.
