TBI identifies body found in Meigs County by school bus driver

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has identified the man whose body was discovered by a school bus driver Wednesday morning on Eaves Ferry Road in Decatur, Tennessee.

TBI spokeswoman Susan Niland said the body has been identified as that of 60-year-old Decatur resident Roger Dale Miller.

Miller's cause of death has yet to be determined by a medical examiner, she said, and the investigation into his death remains "active and ongoing."

She said she could not speak to specifics such as whether the TBI had identified any potential suspects.

Miller's body was found around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. Officials with Meigs County schools posted a statement on the system's Facebook page later in the day saying a Meigs County school bus driver spotted the body while picking up children and reported the discovery to authorities while "transporting the students safely to school."

Eaves Ferry Road is a road less than a mile long that runs parallel to Decatur's northern city limits.

Anyone with information is asked to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
