A 36-year-old Fort Payne, Alabama, woman was one of two people arrested Friday in Cherokee County, Ala., on burglary charges.

Sonya L. Price and Saundra S. Goodwin, 61, of Gaylesville, were taken into custody by deputies minutes after a burglary on County Road 99 in the Broomtown community, a news release from Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver states.

Shaver said an "observant citizen" saw a suspicious vehicle in a driveway and reported it to the sheriff's office. A deputy and an investigator responded, saw the unoccupied vehicle and noticed the home had been burglarized.

Deputies located the suspects and took them into custody after finding stolen property inside the vehicle, Shaver said in the release.

Both Price and Goodwin were taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center and charged with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft of property.
