Irving Azoff to be honored at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy gala

NEW YORK (AP) - Entertainment industry powerhouse Irving Azoff will be honored at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy gala next year.

The Recording Academy announced Monday that Azoff will receive the President's Merit Award at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on Feb. 14, 2016, a day before the Grammy Awards.

Azoff, the chairman and CEO of Azoff MSG Entertainment, manages John Mayer, Bon Jovi, the Eagles, Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani and others.

The event will feature performances from veteran singers as well as breakthrough artists, as selected by Davis. Both Whitney Houston's and Alicia Keys' careers were launched at Davis' pre-Grammy gala.
