SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Police in coastal Georgia say a woman is charged with murder in the drowning deaths of her two daughters.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police spokeswoman Eunicia Baker said in a statement that 26-year-old Jokeera Morgan called police Tuesday afternoon saying she drowned her two young daughters.

Baker says officers responding to the home found the children and tried performing CPR. The girls were taken to Memorial University Hospital and were pronounced dead. Officials say Morgan is charged with two counts of murder.

Baker says police and the Division of Family and Children Services are investigating the girls' deaths. Details on the circumstances that led to the girls' deaths weren't immediately available.

It's unclear if Morgan has an attorney.
