Chattanooga: Despite shootings, crime is down in city, police chief says

Chattanooga Interim police Chief Mark Rawlston says that, despite recent shootings, crime is down in Chattanooga.

The chief said that, compared to the same period last year, reports of violent crime are down 6 percent and nonviolent crime is down 22 percent.

Interim Chief Rawlston spoke with the media at police headquarters this morning for an hour, answering questions about crime trends, the

proposed budget and work with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
