Robert T. Nash, host of "Live & Local" on WGOW-FM 102.3, is no longer with the station, according to program director Bill Lockhart.
Mr. Lockhart said Friday afternoon that Mr. Nash had tendered his resignation.
"He did not leave on bad terms," Mr. Lockhart said. "There was nothing at all in his job performance or any residual blowback from one of his shows."
Reached at his home Friday afternoon, Mr. Nash said he was, in fact, fired Friday morning.
"I did not resign," he said. "I hold great hope of working through these difficulties, which I became aware of only yesterday when they were brought to me by senior members of management of the Citadel Broadcast cluster.
"I thank you for your interest at this point in time. That is all I'd like to say," Mr. Nash said.
Mr. Lockhart said that Bob Moore will fill in on an interim basis during the 1-4 p.m. Monday-Friday time slot and that the station has begun looking for a permanent replacement for Mr. Nash.
