A 33-year-old Whitfield County man is being held without bond on a murder charge after a Monday night stabbing.
Bryan Shelton Dennington faces one charge of murder and one charge of aggravated battery, according to a news release from the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office.
A 911 call about 8:30 p.m. Monday reported a man injured and bleeding at the intersection of Georgia Highway 52 and Cedar Ridge Road. William Wesley Vaughn, 28, was dead when an ambulance arrived, the release stated.
Two witnesses told investigators that Mr. Dennington and Mr. Vaughn were riding in the same vehicle when they began fighting. Both said Dennington stabbed Mr. Vaughn, the release stated.
Police found a knife nearby and arrested Mr. Dennington at his home on Underwood Road, the release said.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Whitfield County Coroner's office are assisting in the investigation, officials said.
