CLEVELAND, Tenn. -- Up to 60 area children have a chance to play knights, fair ladies, wizards and King Arthur himself during a weeklong drama camp at the Museum Center at Five Points.

The Missoula Children's Theatre will lead the camp for students in grades K-12. After a week of rehearsal, the children will put on two public performances of the production "King Arthur's Quest."

The plays are set for 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. March 27.

The event not only provides a fun and rewarding experience, but also an opportunity to develop life skills through participating in the performing arts, theater officials said.

"Missoula Theatre week is a great opportunity for children to be exposed to theater, singing and dancing in a fun environment geared to their age level," said museum Executive Director Lisa Lutts. "We love the program because it brings the arts to children who might not otherwise have this opportunity and opens up doors to their future."

Among the roles to be cast are King Arthur, Guinevere, Merlin, Raven, Taleisin, Lancelot, the knights, the squires, the Camelotians, the Lady of the Lake, Mordred, Morgan Le Fey, Uther Pendragon, the damsels and the Minis. Assistant directors will also be cast to assist with the technical aspects of the production. No advance preparation is necessary.

Those auditioning should arrive by 3:15 to fill out paperwork and should plan to stay for two hours for auditions.

Ten scholarships are available, and those seeking assistance should contact Ken Cagle at 339-5745.
