MEMPHIS - By the age of 8, growing up in Memphis, David Strong knew he would one day preach the gospel. At 18, he was ordained in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
The Rev. David Harrison Strong, 55, was remembered by those who loved him after being laid to rest Monday by hundreds of family members, friends and church faithful at Mount Olive Cathedral CME Church near downtown.
"He was 8 when the Lord called to him," said his mother Bettie Strong, 87.
