Stabbing suspect in jail, victim treated at hospital

Chattanooga police arrested a 48-year-old man in connection with an early morning stabbing on Windsor Street.

Tim Tellis is in the Hamilton County Jail on charges of aggravated domestic assault and aggravated assault, according to a police release.

Witnesses and the victim, 18-year-old Dominique Timmons, told police that Tellis was banging on the 2302 Windsor St. apartment door and refusing to leave before police arrived at 2:16 a.m.

Tellis is the former boyfriend of Timmons' mother, according to the report.

Timmons went outside and "was attacked and stabbed in the stomach and elbow by Tellis," according to the report.

Witnesses told police that Tellis was "intoxicated and began throwing objects at a witness."

Timmons was transported to the hospital for treatment, police did not know his condition.

Tellis is scheduled to appear in Hamilton County General Sessions Court on Nov. 15. Court records show he has had multiple charges from 1986 to this year that include burglary, aggravated assault, public intoxication, sexual battery, theft, DUI and domestic violence and passing worthless checks.
