Storms knock down trees, some power

Update at 10:07 p.m.: EPB reports it is working to restore power to 2,600 homes and businesses from Hixson to Soddy Daisy to Ooltewah.

The storm has knocked trees onto a house on Ely Road in Hamilton County with numerous trees reported down on roads.

Trees also were downed in Marion, McMinn and Bradley counties, with nickel-sized hail reported in Bradley.

Sightings of funnel clouds were reported in Southeast Tennessee, but none touched down, according to officials at the National Weather Service.

Power was also reported out in various parts of the area, including on parts of Brainerd Road.

WRCB reports that EPB says 5,700 customers are without power. The hardest hit areas are Red Bank, Soddy Daisy, Hixson, Lookout Valley and North Chattanooga, WRCB says.
