News conference later this morning on case involving shooting of Chattanooga officer

A news conference has been called for 11 a.m. by law enforcement agencies and the U.S. Attorney's Office concerning federal charges being filed in the April 2 shooting that led to the death of Chattanooga police Sgt. Tim Chapin.

Parents of the alleged shooter, Jesse Mathews, have been arrested and booked into the Hamilton County Jail, records show.

Ray Vance Mathews, 50, and Kathleen Moore Mathews, 57, are listed on the sheriff's booking report under "booked for previous charges or other reasons" by U.S. Marshals. Detailed charges are not listed.

The conference is being held outside the U.S. Attorney's Office in Warehouse Row.
