Man made threats to officers

Chattanooga police arrested a 41-year-old man after they knocked on his door and he threatened to shoot them through the door, according to an arrest report.

Mark Alexander Moss, of 1201 Boynton Drive, finally opened the door late Thursday night and was arrested without incident, the report said.

Moss faces three counts of aggravated assault. As of Friday afternoon, Moss remained in custody at Hamilton County Jail on a $22,500 bond.

Police responded to a call of a disorder involving a weapon. The report did not indicate what type of weapon or whether a weapon was recovered.

Court records show Moss has faced nearly 60 criminal charges since 1991, ranging from worthless checks to assault.

In 2009, he was charged with assaulting an officer and pleaded guilty, receiving a sentence of 11 months and 29 days in jail. He was released after four months for good behavior.

His next court date is scheduled for April 29 in Hamilton County Sessions Court Judge David Bales' courtroom.
