Despite tornado-related power disruptions on her home turf this week, Rossville's Lauren Alaina Suddeth survived another week on "American Idol."

Suddeth, who sang Carole King's "Where You Lead" on Wednesday, is in the show's Top 5 as "Idol" enters its final month.

Voted off the show Thursday was Casey Abrams, a bluesy California resident who was saved by the judges after a previous brush with elimination.

Suddeth, 16, attends Lakeview-Fort Orglethorpe High School. Much of North Georgia was being pummeled by tornados Wednesday night as "Idol" voters nationwide placed their votes.

During the Thursday show, Suddeth said all of her family members in the area are safe. She said she was "sending out love to everyone who had to go through that." She said being away from her friends and family is the hardest thing about appearing on "American Idol."

In response to a question from "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest about her emotional roller-coaster on the show, Suddeth said, "I need to a little more grateful and not worry about the negative stuff."
