Police search for truck stolen from dealership

photo The Chattanooga Police Department's Auto Theft Unit is seeking help in locating a stolen 2012 Kenworth T800 extended cab semi, black in color. The truck was stolen from 2000 E 29th Street, MHC Kenworth-Chattanooga early Monday. This photo shows a white version of the same truck.

Someone hopped into a semi truck at a dealership early Monday and drove the truck through a fence and off the property, Chattanooga police said.

The truck, a black 2012 Kenworth T800 with an extended cab, was stolen from the MHC dealership at 2000 E. 29th St., according to a Crime Stoppers report. The truck had only enough fuel to go five miles, the report said, which could mean the thief stopped at a local fuel station.

Anyone with information on the theft could be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000 and can contact Crime Stoppers at 423-698-3333.
